Tearfund Ethiopia provides training for EKHCDC staff on quality reporting and success story 

Tearfund Ethiopia office has been provided training to the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church Development Commission Livelihood and Resilience Development Department JISRA, Relief, and Rehabilitation, CCT, and SHG resilience development project staff/employees yesterday at the EKHCDC head office that focused on producing quality reports and quality success story reporting aligned with Tearfund reporting format.

In the opening remark Ato Dinku Shumi, EKHCDC Livelihood and Resilience Development Department Head said that EKHCDC has been implementing various projects in collaboration with Tearfund which is helping needy people and the community for years, and also various projects are under implementation. Hence, today’s training will capacitate the staff in relation to quality reporting and quality success story collection to donors as well as the masses.

The training was given by Mr. Alemayehu Seyum Tearfund Ethiopia CCT Project Officer. He lectured the staff on a range of issues and he also underscored clearly identifying the problem before the project’s intervention, describing how the problem was addressed and solved as well as the impact that projects have on beneficiaries’ lives. Preparing a report is a fundamentally expected job in project life but particularly preparing quality success stories shows more practical saying and voice of the project beneficiaries’.  

It helps to understand the journey of the project’s implementations, and will help to know the reader’s view and opinion, as well as other vital assignments and opportunities regarding the project and its beneficiaries.

The training participant has also learned and shared vital experiences from the theoretical and practical sessions. Quality success story report will provide a summary of information to readers: it will clearly define the problem before the project intervention, describe how the problems were addressed or solved, and also indicate what changes or impacts have been realized on the move. Hence, the employee should understand the power and the value of quality success story reporting for measuring the project’s effectiveness, seeking additional opportunities, and fundraising. So employees should work hard and strive towards this end accordingly.
