The Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church Development Commission (EKHCDC) believes that effective and efficient Human Resources (HRs) system plays a significant role in the achievement of the purposes of the Commission. With this understanding, the Commission recognizes that staffs are its greatest and highly valued assets in fulfilling its mission and achieving its strategic objectives. Based on this recognition, the Commission is committed to its employees. Therefore, clearly spelt out HR policies and procedures are made available to facilitate a harmonious relationship between the Commission and its employees.
For the above mentioned purposes the Commission has put a human resources policies and procedures manual (HRPPM) in place taking into consideration all the pertinent stipulations in the Commission’s Bylaws and regulations as well as all the pertinent government of Ethiopian laws and decrees. The HRPPM outlines basic policies and procedures on HR Management of the Commission and has been in operation since May 2016. Major Functions of the Department
As it can be understood from its name, the department consists of two major units: human resources management and logistics management units.
Under the Human Resources management unit, the following main functions are carried out:
- Employee recruitment and Placement
- Staff performance appraisal
- Training and development, and
- Other HRM activities
Under the logistics management unit, the following main functions are carried out:
- Vehicles Management
- Procurement
- Stores management and
- General services
