Tearfund Australia

Tearfund Australia is one of the old partners which has been working in active partnership with EKHCDC to support various programs and projects. Recently, the organization supported emergency response interventions in Amhara and Oromia regions to save the lives of conflict and drought affected communities.

  • Amhara Region: North Wello Cash Distribution Project: Besides its contribution to CFGB/TFCA to assist Tigray/Mekele emergency response, Tearfund Australia supported multipurpose cash distribution to war affected 7,275IDPs/1,455HHs in Weldia and Kobo districts in the year 2021.
  • Oromia Region: Yabello Emergency Response Cash Transfer Project: Currently in the year 2023, Tearfund Australia is supporting a three round cash transfer project to address 1215 drought affected communities in Yabello district of Borana Zone.
  • Tigray Region: Mekele Multipurpose Cash (MPC) Emergency Response Project: Tearfund Australia supported project which is aimed to transfer a two round cash transfer to address 1,100 hh drought-affected communities in Mekele 70 Kare Camp of Tiray Region. The project will last for five months and will cover 5,500 people with a total budget of ETB 22,600,000 million.
