Mission/objective statement of the program

  •  Goal:  Achieve improved health, dignity and quality of life for the target communities in Ethiopia and empower the people.
  • Objectives: Improved and sustained access to safe water supply, sanitation and hygiene practices amongst rural people and empower them to sustain these improvements
  • Mission: To provide holistic and sustainable development that brings basic change to empower the community to fulfil its spiritual, physical, social, economic and psychological needs utilizing its own resources.

Ending poverty and ensuring food security through provision of safe & adequate water supply and sustainable sanitation and hygiene practice.

Since the programwas established, over 700,000 rural and semi-urban people have benefitted from new safe and adequate water supplies and from sanitation and hygiene education

  • Decentralize the program and focus on improved output and impact
  • Provide effective training and capacity building at all levels
  • Create a conducive environment and concentrate more on software components at the grass root level
  • Integrate with other EKHCDC development activities to reduce the level of poverty in the country
  • Continue to learn from the community and analyze their situation to promote innovative ideas
